Professional Experience

I’m a learning experience designer with a background in teaching, UX, and instructional design. After earning degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of San Diego, I taught elementary and secondary math, led district curriculum initiatives, and implemented EdTech tools to improve learning outcomes. Today, I draw on that classroom insight to design intuitive, engaging digital learning experiences that blend pedagogy, technology, and human-centered design.

Employment History

2023-Present

7th Grade Math Teacher

5th Grade Teacher

1st Grade Teacher
Rim of the World Unified School District

As an educator in the Rim of the World Unified School District, I have taught 1st grade, 5th grade, and 7th grade math, gaining firsthand insight into learner behavior and instructional design across developmental levels. Through targeted intervention and strategic use of i-Ready and other EdTech tools, I successfully raised student performance from two or more grade levels below to no more than one grade level below, or at/above grade level within an academic year.

At the district level, I collaborated on curriculum mapping, assessment design, and digital platform adoption, strengthening my skills in data analysis, user-centered problem-solving, and systems implementation. These experiences mirror core principles of UX and instructional design, emphasizing data-informed iteration, accessibility, and engagement to create learning experiences that drive measurable growth.

2021-2022

2nd Grade Teacher
Warren Walker Lower School

As a 2nd Grade Teacher at Warren-Walker Lower School, an esteemed private institution in San Diego, I was recognized for creating a dynamic, engaging classroom environment that fostered academic growth and enthusiasm for learning. I built strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, earning a reputation as a collaborative and effective educator. Through differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching, I notably raised student test scores—one parent reported their child’s percentile increasing from the 60th to above the 90th within a single year. My approach combined high academic expectations with creativity and connection, resulting in consistently strong student outcomes and community trust.

2020-2021

1st Grade Virtual Instructor

Middle School Asynchronous Instructor

6th Grade Hybrid Instructor
San Diego Schools

As a 1st Grade Long-Term Substitute in Coronado Unified School District, I was selected as the sole remote instructor during the pandemic and successfully maintained a 0% drop rate, the only teacher in my grade level to do so. I delivered highly engaging virtual instruction through differentiated lessons and interactive EdTech tools, ensuring consistent participation and measurable learning growth.

At Feaster STEAM Charter School, I taught 6th grade, integrating project-based and technology-enhanced learning to support diverse learners in a hybrid environment. Additionally, as a Summer Instructor for the Charter School of San Diego, I facilitated asynchronous instruction that emphasized autonomy and personalized feedback. Across these roles, I demonstrated a proven ability to design and deliver effective instruction in virtual, hybrid, and asynchronous learning environments, which are skills that directly inform my work in UX and instructional design.
